A fiação é, sem dúvida, a tarefa mais repetitiva mas mais gratificante do processo de transformação da lã em tecido. Acredito que o fio produzido à mão é uma representação fiel de cada intenção, impressão e emoção sentida no momento em que foi fiado. Um fragmento desse presente.

Desde as primeiras etapas de preparação e mistura das fibras e cores com as cardas manuais, até à fiação e torção do fio, seja no fuso de suspensão ou na roda de fiar, este processo altamente meditativo ajuda-me a pensar livremente sobre o meu trabalho e a idealizar os próximos projetos.

Spinning is, arguably, the most repetitive yet most rewarding task of the process of turning wool into cloth. I believe that the thread produced by hand is a faithful representation of each intention, emotion and perception at the time in which it was spun. A fragment of that present.

From the early stages of prepping and mixing the fibers and colours with the hand carders, to then spinning and plying the yarn, either on the spinning wheel or drop spindle, this highly meditative process helps me think freely about my work and idealize the next projects.
